Hospital Bag Checklist for Newborn (Bébé)

Newborns need very little in the early days. Soft layers, warmth, and a calm environment are enough.

 

Clothing

• Going-home outfit

• 2–3 footed pyjamas

• 3 vests or bodysuits

• 2–3 cotton caps and mittens

 

Comfort & Sleep

• 2 muslin swaddles

• 100% cotton blanket

• Sound machine

 

Care Essentials

• Burp cloths

• Nail trimmer

 

Diapering

• Newborn diapers

• Baby wipes

• Diaper rash cream

 

Travel

• Infant car seat (installed and ready)

• Hospital-grade breast pump (optional)


Postpartum Care

• Disposable underwear

• Maternity pads

• Tucks pads

• Dermaplast spray


Personal Essentials

• Toiletries

• Lip balm and hand cream

• Hair ties or clips


Snacks & Hydration

• Water tumbler

• Easy snacks (dates, bars, nuts)


Hospital Bag Checklist for Partner

Preparing a small bag for your partner helps the hospital stay run more smoothly.

• Change of clothes

• Comfortable sleepwear

• Lightweight jacket or hoodie

• Toiletries

• Phone charger or power bank

• Wallet, ID, and hospital paperwork

• Reusable water bottle

• Snacks

• Slippers or flip-flops

• Phone storage cleared for photos

• Notebook for notes or memories
